i don't really get the hype and drama caused by favs and pageviews on devArt. i guess i can understand the popularity battle; if highschool taught me anything, it was all about the popDrama. but the kids who were popular in highschool were generally streamlined and devoid of lending any form of individual thought to conversation. i'd totally argue that parallel with a lot of the popular art submissions here on devArt, too.

and so it goes.

nevertheless, it's been a while since my last journal entry here.. aside from massive QQfests over my summer course and the job i fucking loathe, not much has really changed (nor has my love for stephen colbert!). i've been sketching and doodling a lot more as of late, which makes me happy, and even just looking over some of my older submissions and comparing them to my more current ones, i can see bits of improvement, which also makes me happy. these days i've been sulking and listening to nothing but kings of leon, or when i'm in a somewhat less dramatic mood i listen to the wombats and mystery jets.

does anyone else find summer overrated?

maybe that's just me, and the fact that i took a year off from school. it feels like i've been floating in limbo for the last year and a bit.. which is probably why i have a severe lack of appreciation for this summer. where i live, it's been the most lackluster summer ever. nothing but miserable weather; rain, sticky humidity, and cold. why can't ottawa get a hot hot heat? a dry heat?

fuck it, i'm packing up everything and moving to the sun.
